Sometimes an average taskbar is not enough. You need something more than just some quick launch icons. You need Nexus.
Nexus is a Mac-style dock bar that you can use in replacement of your Windows standard taskbar ? or in combination with it. The Nexus taskbar features large sized icons that can be animated in an impressive variety of ways. What's more, you can also add effects to the Nexus background, and make it look like water.
Nexus is highly customizable. It includes themes to change its overall appearance, as well as gadgets (called Items) with which you can check weather conditions, monitor CPU usage and RAM memory, keep track of network upload and download speed rates. You can even get a fortune cookie from a cute fish called Wanda!
The program has enough configuration options to keep you entertained for a few hours. Luckily it's very well documented, in case you get lost. The only drawback we could find is that changes you make are not visible in real time: you need to apply them before you can see them taking effect.
