First it reads the file, then analyses the data structure to find the error. It then prepares the data, recalculates it and finally rewrites the file with what hopefully is a functioning file structure. The whole process takes a matter of seconds but unfortunately, this demo version does not let you recover the while file - you have to upgrade to the full version to see whether it actually worked.
This is a very quick and last ditch solution for corrupted Excel files although you'll need to cough up some dough to see whether it was effective or not.
