Whatever the reason, you can find the perfect name with Name Dictionary. If you're just curious about what your own name means, simply type it into the Name Dictionary search tab. You can define certain criteria with Name Dictionary like limiting the specific origin results that will appear, as well as searching by related or exact names only.
For users more interested in discovering specific names with certain meanings, try Name Dictionary's Name Generator tab. You can limit results to names that start with certain letters or even the gender most often associated with the name. Choose the number of results you want generated, if available, and Name Dictionary will then generate names that match your criteria.
The only real downside to this program is for users who want to search for names from a specific ethnicity. While you can search based on certain letters and gender, there's no option to pick and choose between name origins.
For unique baby name options or name origin searches though, Name Dictionary is a useful tool.
